Ukraine Update

We are collecting various items to send with our next consignment, if you can help, check the list here.
We continue to support Ukraine with multiple consignments of scrubs, gowns and general aid collected by, or manufactured by the Scrubbery. We have supported 3 clinics in Kiyv, the main hospital in Brovary, and 2 hospitals in the Kharkiv region. Those are civilian hospitals, we have also helped military hospitals of the Ukrainian medical forces - in Kiyv, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Odessa and Kharkiv, also 2 hospitals of the state border service in Kiyv and in Lviv.
Alongside these we sent camoflauge netting which we are making from scrap fabrics and dyed bed sheets, and using football and hockey nets as the base to attach the fabric to.
We had to research how best to get the items out to Ukraine and delivered safely into the right hands. Through our network with community champions, we found Olga Proto, whose brother is actually living out in Ukraine, and who has an active network there. The items are being driven to Ukraine by Ukrainian drivers and are delivered to a bonded warehouse in Lviv. From there we are working with the Ukrainian Catholic University Volunteer Corps under supervision of Father Petro Terrleckuj. This is a highly reputable and well-established organisation. Father Petro releases the goods out of the warehouse and they are sent where we direct them or, in the case of the camouflage netting where it is most needed.

We have wellbeing bags available. We have to date been working with BMA representatives in hospitals who have taken a targeted and distilled approach to the distribution of bags, choosing teams who have had less than others in terms of support during the pandemic or perhaps have had more to contend with. If you have teams for whom this would make a difference please get in touch via our contact form or request bags directly via this request form.
To make helping fill these bags even simpler, we have additionally set up an Amazon wishlist – where we itemised examples of the kinds of products we are looking for. We have compiled this list after asking the incredibly hard-working staff what might help support them and cheer them up. Our hand-made bags of thanks filled by you as friends and supporters will help lift spirits and show gratitude for all that they have done and are doing for us as a community.
If you can provide any items to fit into these shoe box sized bags, then please drop them off at the Scrubbery or contact Rosie or Lucy on scrubbery.stitch@gmail.com and we can arrange for a collection. If you have any contacts within large suppliers, who might have stock they want to donate, please let us know and we can reach out to them.
We know that these gifts will make such a difference and any contribution large or small will be truly appreciated.
